KTM Duke 160 Summary
The new Duke 160 will look similar to the latest generation Duke series. It will be based on a steel trellis frame with a sub-bolt-on frame. This streetfighter will feature premium upside-down WP front forks and a WP mono-shock absorber at the rear end. It is expected to come with a 300 mm disc brake on the front wheel and a 230 mm disc brake on the rear wheel. KTM will also equip it with a dual-channel ABS system like the bigger Duke 200. The KTM Duke 160 will come with a 13.5 litres large fuel tank and its weight is expected to be in the range of 150-155 kg.
This new KTM streetfighter will come with a 160.3cc single-cylinder engine derived from the Pulsar NS160. Its engine will be liquid-cooled and it will be mated to a 6-speed transmission. The KTM Duke 160 power output will be around 17.2 PS while its torque output will be nearly 14.6 Nm. It will not get a power-assisted slipper clutch like the bigger Duke’s to keep its cost low. This streetfighter will feature a fully digital instrument console and LED taillights & turn signals. The new Duke 160 will come with 17-inch alloy wheels and it will get wide radial tubeless tyres.
KTM Duke 160 Price in India
KTM will try to price it in the same range as the currently sold Duke 125 to make it an attractive option for buyers. The KTM Duke 160 might carry a price tag of Rs 1.70 Lakh in India. It will provide better value than the smaller Duke 125, as it feels overpriced against the other 125cc bikes.
KTM has hiked the price of its entry-level streetfighter a lot in recent times which makes it a hell lot expensive than the other 125cc bikes in India. A new KTM Duke 160 at the same price with improved performance and features seems a better option for the brand. This new streetfighter can compete against new entrants like the Honda Hornet 2.0, Apache 160 4V, and the Yamaha MT-15. KTM should definitely launch the Duke 160 as it will be a better option for Indian buyers than the currently overpriced 125cc Duke.
